Reading Rockets Cat Lutz Scoops Spalding South West Player of the Year

spal logoReading Rockets received the exciting news last week that one of their Senior Women’s players Cat Lutz was awarded the Spalding South West Player of the Year award. For the first time the clubs involved in the league were able to put forward who they felt was their most valuable player from another team.

The short list kat shootingof 4 was then published on social media for the basketball community as a whole to vote.

Cat was up against 3 other very strong players but came through as a convincing winner once the votes were in. Cat has been truly instrumental in the success the Rockets Women havekat award had this year in becoming National Cup finalists, League Champions, and also Play Off Finalists.

Cat was really pleased to receive her award at the National Play Off finals in Manchester last weekend.

I feel very fortunate and blessed to have received the MVP award this season. The amount of support that I have received from my family, friends, and the club has been tremendous. I wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what I did this season without my teammates and coaches, who were amazing both on and off the court, and who have become very much like a second family to me. When you are in a positive environment like that, you are truly able to excel – and that’s exactly what this team did this year.
